Narrative Change

Storytelling

Mi Oaxaca's Narrative Change work aims to address cultural appropriation and Indigenous erasure by centering Oaxacan voices and knowledge. Our webinars contribute to these efforts.

Community based participatory research

Check our first webinar series Compartiendo Cultural, Formando Generaciones: Voces de Madres Oaxaqueñas where we honor and uplift the work of Indigenous Oaxaqueña mothers, whose care, wisdom, and leadership sustain cultural heritage and guide younger generations. Each conversation offered powerful reflections on the role of the matriarch and how culture is carried forward through everyday life.

Webinars

In 2023, we completed 17 interviews, 6 focus groups, a community forum, and several ethnographic activities through our decolonial Community Based Research (CBPR) Project. This knowledge is preserved through our physical and digital zine, “Voices of Mi Oaxaca: Sharing Roots” and our social media campaign, “Echoes of the Land”.
